Thank you for inquiring about a summer position at VISIONS Vacation for the Blind.

VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired operates a recreation and rehabilitation site, Vacation Camp for the Blind (VCB), in Rockland County, New York, just 35 miles north of New York City. Each year, the camp serves a diverse population of over 600 people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired. We offer programs for independent adults, blind children and their families, and adults with additional physical and developmental disabilities. Program activities are specially adapted to meet the needs of our visually impaired population and include swimming, boating, arts and crafts, nature walks, outdoor and indoor sports, adapted computers, Braille lessons, orientation and mobility, rehabilitation training, educational programs and discussions, drama, music and dance.

VISIONS Vacation Camp for the Blind offers a challenging work setting that provides an ideal experience for a wide range of careers. College and graduate students majoring in education, special education, therapeutic recreation, social work, psychology or any other human services fields are strongly encouraged to apply. No previous experience working with people who are blind is required, as we provide training and professional supervision in a variety of disciplines. VISIONS is an equal opportunity employer.
