Dear Volunteer Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Visions at Selis Manor. Incorporated in 1926, VISIONS strives to promote the independence of people who are blind and visually impaired through social work, recreational activities, rehabilitation training and volunteer programs. Our programs have flourished and our services have been enhanced thanks to all the caring volunteers that have dedicated their time and effort in assisting people who are blind.

Selis Manor volunteers assist with reading mail, periodicals, and other types of literature, escorting clients in the community and helping in recreational programs (i.e. quilting, computer, knitting, photography, and ceramics). VISIONS volunteers make real differences every day in the lives of people who are blind and visually impaired.

Enclosed is a volunteer application, which must be completed in full and returned to VISIONS. We have included a return envelope for your convenience. Please note that VISIONS conducts a thorough background check on all volunteer applicants. On your application, you must provide the complete information of two professional references and one personal reference. We will contact you once we finish processing your application, normally within three weeks.

Thank you again for your interest in volunteering at VISIONS. Our hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and Friday 9:00 am until 6:00 pm. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact me by phone at (646) 486 - 4444, ext. 12 or via e-mail at mphipps@visionsvcb.org.

Please download our Adult Volunteer Reference Form.

Sincerely,
