Andrew S. Fisher, PhD, Joins VISIONS Board of Directors

Recently Retired Lavelle Fund for the Blind Executive Director

New York, NY: VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired today announced that Andrew S. Fisher PhD, has joined VISIONS Board of Directors effective 3/10/2020.

Andrew S. Fisher PhD, has joined VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired as a Director, following his retirement from the Lavelle Fund for the Blind on February 28, 2020 where he served as Executive Director for 20 years. Dr. Fisher will bring his extensive experience in supporting programs that promote the development of blind and visually impaired people of all ages, to VISIONS and provide guidance in helping to increase support and awareness for VISIONS Services.

Additionally, Dr. Fisher’s experiences that will benefit VISIONS moving forward include:

  • Senior Program Officer at the Charles Hayden Foundation from 1996 to 2000
  • Program Officer at the Wallace Foundation from 1990 to 1996
  • Vice President for Philanthropy at Chase Manhattan Bank from 1985 to 1990

VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a nonprofit rehabilitation and social service organization. VISIONS purpose is to develop and implement individualized programs to assist blind and visually impaired people of all ages to lead independent and active lives, and to educate the public to understand the capabilities and needs of people who are blind and visually impaired.
