The Employment Specialist is an individual who is committed to the belief that all people who want to work have the right to work. Collaborating with the Workforce Development team at VISIONS, the Employment Specialist identifies appropriate openings and helps place people who are blind and visually impaired in jobs commensurate with their education, interest, skills and experience. By developing and nurturing relationships with potential employers and learning their staffing needs, the Employment Specialist works with employers on hiring qualified individuals who are legally blind. Student Career Coordinator

The Student Career Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to work directly with college students and recent college graduates who are recipients of the Brother Kearny Scholarships offered by the Lavelle Fund for the Blind, clients of VISIONS youth services and adult workforce clients.  He/she/they will collaborate with the other members of the Workforce Development and Youth Services team at VISIONS to assist blind college students to secure summer internships and for the recent graduates to secure permanent, competitive employment upon graduation, in fields that correspond to their degrees.  […]

Senior Technology Instructor

The Senior Technology Instructor at VISIONS is an individual with both depth and breadth of knowledge related to computer operating systems, commercial software applications, and assistive technologies used by persons with impaired vision. They are a skilled computer instructor who has experience teaching in classroom settings as well as in small group or one-to-one settings. The ideal candidate will be patient, creative, friendly, and flexible. They are able to work autonomously, but is equally comfortable working as part of a team. They develop new courses, prepare lesson plans, provide direct instruction and monitors and documents student progress.
