Vision Rehabilitation
When someone loses their vision, there may be many day-to-day activities that become more challenging. VISIONS team of licensed staff help to solve these challenges with individualized training and adaptations designed to improve your overall safety and independence.
Job Training and Job Placement
VISIONS Department of Workforce Development offers programs and services related to employment and technology, to help prepare legally blind individuals enter or re-enter the workforce. Successful participants have secured jobs in fields including (but not limited to): logistics, food service, customer service, web design, maintenance, social work, and office administration, as well as many remote opportunities.
Assistive Technology Instruction
VISIONS offers hands-on training in assistive technology to help participants use computers, smartphones, tablets, and other devices with confidence. This training is tightly integrated across many of our programs, from our Youth Services, to Workforce, to our Older Adult Center, because we understand how vital technology skills are for everyday life, learning, and employment.
BlindLine®
Blindline® is a uniquely comprehensive information and referral service for people who are blind or visually impaired, their family members, caregivers, and professionals in the field of blindness. The service includes a toll-free telephone number as well as a fully accessible website, Blindline.org, both of which are linked to a New York State database with more than 2,500 accessible products and services.
