Services Offered At This Location:
VISIONS Center on Aging
Serving older adults across all five boroughs, VISIONS Center on Aging offers a wide variety of programs, services, and activities designed to encourage social interaction, physical activity, and healthy aging.
Community Center for Adults
VISIONS community center is a safe space for participants to socialize, develop new friendships, receive support from their peers, learn about resources, and develop/focus on goals, all while learning how to remain independent in their homes and communities.
Youth Services
VISIONS offers a variety of specialized programs and services for children and youth with visual impairments (up to age 21). These programs were designed to introduce participants to important life skills, including independent living, orientation and mobility, assistive technology, social, and vocational readiness. Most youth programming happens during the Summer months or when school is out of session.
Assistive Technology Instruction
VISIONS offers hands-on training in assistive technology to help participants use computers, smartphones, tablets, and other devices with confidence. This training is tightly integrated across many of our programs, from our Youth Services, to Workforce, to our Older Adult Center, because we understand how vital technology skills are for everyday life, learning, and employment.
Unpaid Caregiver Support
VISIONS Caregiver Program provides no-cost services for unpaid caregivers who are assisting older adults 60 years and over, where either the caregiver or the care recipient (or both) is blind or visually impaired; and grandparents, 55 years and older who are the primary caregivers for a child under the age of 18 years of age where either the grandparent or the child is blind or visually impaired.
Volunteer With VISIONS
Volunteers are the heart of VISIONS. Whether helping host an activity or conduct meal service at our Older Adult Center, or participating in a beautification project at VISIONS Center on Blindness, or working with our blind jobseekers to help them get ready for their interviews, VISIONS volunteers make a real difference every day in the lives of people who are blind and visually impaired.
