About Sharing Glasses?

Sharing-glasses is a program run by Sofia Tello, a high school student, in collaboration with VISIONS/Services for the Blind & Visually Impaired. This program collects old, no-longer used prescription glasses to be recycled and donated to individuals who are visually impaired and cannot purchase their own.

According to the World Health Organization there are approximately 2.2 billion people with visual impairment due to multiple diseases of the eye. Around 1 billion people are visually impaired because they don't have access to a pair of glasses for distance or reading.

Visual impairment not only impacts people socially and economically but also negatively affects childhood development.

By providing a pair of glasses you can change a life!
