About Our Residential Work Readiness Programs

Our residential work readiness programs prepare young adults (18-23 years old) to enter the workforce via an intensive certificate program with durations of 45 days, 60 days, or 15 weeks.

The curriculum for each program focuses on the five elements of the federal Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), including Job Exploration and Counseling, Work-based Learning Experiences, Post-secondary Education, Workplace Readiness Training, and Self Advocacy.

Each Participant’s Path to Success Includes the Following:

Skill Building

Participants learn both vocational hard skills (navigating job boards, preparing resumes, and interviewing) as well as soft skills (understanding and managing emotions in the workplace, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy.) This combined training helps participants adapt to the workplace culture.

Certificate Programs

Through partnerships with Rockland County Community College, Southern Westchester BOCES, and Rockland BOCES, participants can apply for any of over 30 additional online certificates in fields including nursing assistant, teacher’s assistant, HVAC, and more.

Workplace Support

During our 15-Week Program, participants complete an 80-100-hour internship prior to program completion, and are eligible for additional support from VISIONS job placement staff. During our 45 and 60-day programs, participants receive support from our Workforce Department.
